Cookies

I make cookie trays for all our friends and neighbors every year. I didn't make as many different kinds as I usually do. I did snickerdoodle, tassie, chocolate crinkle, peanut blossom, tea cake and mini cheesecake. I didn't do pizzelle, blackeyed susan or chocolate chip. I got a little slack for not making chocolate chip. A while back my brother Mark use to come to Dallas on business. One time he mentioned the warm chocolate chip cookies the Double Tree Hotel puts on your pillow at night were really good. I obtained that recipe and I have been making them ever since. The chocolate spoons are a big hit with the kids. Most of the time they just eat them, but sometimes they stir them in their hot chocolate. The girls usually give the spoons to their classmates with a festive cup and homemade hot cocoa mix.

Classic

Dean and I watch A Chirstmas Story every year. Sometimes more than once. When I saw this ornament I had to get it. I wanted to buy the leg lamp too, but the price tag was too high for me.

Chair Affair Update

In November I posted a picture of Michele's chair that was in the Annual Chair Affair Auction at her school. I was not the winning bid. It was bittersweet. I felt bad I didn't win, but I think it made her feel good that there was some what of a bidding war over her chair. All the money went to Children's Miracle Network.

Pretty Clipboards

A good friend of mine sells these clipboards on etsy.com, Kute Klipboards by Amy.
Jenn's was a special order. She makes small and large in just about any design.

It's a Christmas Tradition

We are the goofy family that drives for miles to see Christmas light displays every year. We waited in line a long time to get into this one, but it was worth it. Some of these places have villages at the end so the night always consists of eating a lot of junk food. If they don't have junk food we find our own after we leave. Which is what we did because it was too cold to get out. It makes me laugh to think I was raised in Pittsburgh, PA and I think 32 degrees is too cold. Although, my junk food of choice for the night was a kraut dog....y'all!

All Lit Up

The front of our house and the tunnel at the light display.

Sit Pretty

The girls wanted to take pictures with Avery. They were sad he wasn't in the Christmas card picture. I was going to have a friend take them, but Dean had his shoulder surgery just before Thanksgiving and we lost our window of opportunity.

Chubby Pilgrims

These salt and pepper shakers are compliments of Lisa, Chuck and Publix. I wonder if Publix has Mr. & Mrs. Claus...hmmm

Yippee for Turkey Day

I hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Dean had surgery over the break so we didn't take a family picture. I decided to use this because it makes me laugh.

Inspired

I want to thank my niece Melissa for inspiring me to do this blog.

The Chair Affair

One of Michele's electives this year is Art II. Each student is required to paint a chair that will be auctioned off at our annual Chair Affair in December. The proceeds will be donated to a charity. They haven't decided which one yet. I think she did an awsome job!!
